Pre-orders for physical copies of The Thing: Remastered are now open

Nightdive Studios has announced physical standards and deluxe editions of The Thing: Remastered, with pre-orders for both now being open.

Last December, renowned remaster developer Nightdive Studios made waves in the retro gaming space for its surprise digital launch of The Thing: Remastered during the PC Gaming Show. Now, in collaboration with Universal Products & Experiences, Nightdive Studios has proudly announced physical Standard and Deluxe Editions of The Thing: Remastered for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5. 

Pricing begins at $29.99 / €34.99 for the Standard Edition and $49.99 / €54.99 for the Deluxe Edition of The Thing: Remastered. Pre-orders are available now until its release on June 25—the 43rd anniversary of the 1982 cult classic film. 

The deluxe edition comes with a variety of bonuses, including a deluxe box, steelbook case, poster, and more.

For those who haven't played The Thing and don't get what all the fuss is about, well, The Thing: Remastered takes a third-person survival horror shooter and upgrades it for the current gen while retaining what made it special upon its release in 2022.

The Thing: Remastered is a faithful restoration of the 2002 third-person survival horror shooter inspired by Universal Pictures' genre-defining 1982 film, The Thing. Nightdive Studios has upgraded this horrifying classic for the modern era through its proprietary KEX Engine for play on current-generation gaming devices up to a 4K resolution at 120FPS. In the frozen arctic tundra, a mysterious shape-shifting alien has wiped out the crew of the U.S. Outpost #31 research facility. In The Thing: Remastered, players step into the boots of Captain J.F. Blake, the leader of a United States Army Special Forces rescue team sent to investigate the blood-curdling events that transpired in the original The Thing film.
