Poppy Playtime Chapter 5 got a release date!

Chapter 5 could be the best chapter yet, so let's catch up before it releases!

Poppy Playtime Chapter 5 got a release date!
Published:

Before we get into the catch-up portion of this news, the release date for Chapter 5 is officially Wednesday, February 18, 2026, and as far as I know, the console release date is not happening in February. I have gotten all of the games to run on Steam Deck with a lot of tinkering, which I will share with you all as soon as I get my reviews for each chapter up.

First things first, the Chapter 5 trailer is below.

Game Information

Deep within the vacant halls of the Playtime Co. lab, The Prototype stalks its unfinished work…the tattered, lifeless remains of toys that once were. Broken things.

This closer look, and official “Broken Things” subtitle reveal, follows the Chapter 5 announcement teaser, which revealed the aftermath of the Chapter 4 finale—the gruesome handiwork of The Prototype—alongside a cryptic message suggesting its intentions are all but understood. In the “Welcome Home” trailer, Poppy narrowly escapes with her life, only to find herself facing yet another unexpected, yet ominously charming, threat.

“You don’t know anything…not yet…”

More information from the Steam Page

In Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5 — “Broken Things,” players must prepare to face off against the deadly puppetmaster behind the horrifying events of Playtime Co’s dark past. Solve devious puzzles and overcome dangerous obstacles as the true rotten heart at the center of Playtime Co. draws nearer. Traverse this new realm of shadows in a fight for survival (and the truth) with Playtime’s security system, Huggy Wuggy, in hot pursuit and separated from your only allies. Will you finally end this nightmare, or fall victim to the puppet master’s twisted madness?

Features:

  • Stomach-churning terrors await you in this new section of the factory as you uncover the dark works hidden within The Prototype’s stomping grounds.
  • In this chilling new layer of the Playtime facility, you will encounter the tortured denizens living in the darkness. They may aid you in your quest to defeat The Prototype, but can they be trusted?
  • Solve devious puzzles and overcome dangerous environmental obstacles with the power of new GrabPack tools and functionality.
  • As you reach the true rotten heart at the center of Playtime, discover some of the company’s gravest sins.

Screenshots

This first image is called “facade,” which I think is extremely interesting because to me, everywhere where the orphans go would be made in this way. They want the place to be as inviting as possible. You can see what looks like painted wood, which I would assume is to make spaces for either the toys to hang out or for the orphans to be. These don’t look like full-sized rooms, though.

My first thought was that this is a space for pictures to be taken. Though I could be completely wrong about that.

This next photo is called “cave,” which doesn’t really stand out to me for any particular reason. The factory is clearly falling apart, and it seems to get worse the deeper we go. I assume that we are going to have to avoid more obstacles in this chapter.

This next photo is called “playtime,” but this area looks a lot older than what we see up above. My first assumption, especially because of how old the logo looks, is that this is a remnant of a much older portion of the factory. This could also be part of the area where the new toys are held.

Now we move on to an image called “wreckage,” which to me looks like a part of the lab just because of how the walls look.

This next image is called “tunnel,” and I can only assume that an elevator is in this area because it looks like the space in Chapter 4 where we start descending.

Finally, we have this image of Huggy, who we know is making his return. I am hoping that he is a wandering enemy that will take a minute to shake off. I can’t wait to see him because the animations have gotten exceptionally better for each chapter. He is also bandaged up, which I assumed happened in the labs.
