Palia now has Animal Husbandry!

As an avid Palia player and a fan with a lot of conflicted feelings, it's a resounding yippee that Palia has added the long-awaited gameplay feature, Animal Husbandry.

Palia has always been a solid farming sim and it seems like the only thing it was missing was looking after your own animals.

Once upon a time, in a land of Barns and Briars, a new season of stories began to bloom in Palia. This patch brings Animal Husbandry to life, with barns, breeding, and beloved animals galore. Build your own spooky-chic cottage, help The Gardener find his roots, and join in the harvest fun with Country Fair quests and daily rewards. From hay bales to hair dyes, fairy tales to farm life, this patch is full of charm to usher in the softer season.

You herd it here first. The Ranching skill has arrived, bringing barns, breeding, and a pasture full of possibilities! 🐄

The only requirement is that you've obtained your glider. After this has been done, Delilah will arrive at your plot to give you a recipe for the barn bell. Once you've done that, you can fast travel to a barn lot where your animals will reside - separate to your home plot.

Like other skills, you can level up your ranching using XP and as part of this progression you'll unlock new animals. It can hold 30 animals at max at the moment and the team ahs said they are aiming to add more animals in the future.

This update swiftly came after Palia's updated roadmap, which can be seen below. We really have been spoiled this year as we saw the likes of the Elderwood expansion and a PS5 and Xbox release.

Other features added to this update is the inclusion of new buildings, primarily the Alchemist cottage. You just need to be furniture building level 10 and then you can purchases builds from the town hall.

You can now stack rooms on top of each other and build stairs inside and the most wacky addition of all is that you can remove any wall of a building. It seems strange at first, but knowing the community they'll make some spectacular builds.

The update also includes a range of other really interesting features, from new friendship quests with the Gardener - you just need to complete the Earth temple to trigger it. You'll also see new cosmetics and village board quests.

This update has been a beefy one and I can't wait to see the polish of this new major gameplay mechanic.
