Paint the town red in new Atomfall expansion

Cheerio gov'nah. That's a terrible attempt at a British accent, but what isn't terrible is Atomfall. This stealth/action-RPG is a fun romp, and today's Red Strain expansion gives you even more to do. Check out the intel below, alongside our review from earlier this year.

OXFORD (Sept. 16, 2025) – Rebellion, one of the world's most successful independent video game developers and publishers, has today announced The Red Strain, a new story expansion to its smash hit survival action game Atomfall^®. The latest expansion adds a new in-game location called Test Site Moriah, new characters, as well as additional leads, weapons, skills, items and new endings for Atomfall’s main story.

The Red Strain

Nestled in the hills, away from the prying eyes of the locals, lies Test Site Moriah. A secret research site built by B.A.R.D on the site of an old missile testing facility, it has been shrouded in mystery ever since it opened. But something changed when the quarantine came into effect. Now, the facility has fallen into more nefarious hands, and a deadly virus is seeping out from the secret network of underground labs and bunkers. But a route back into the facility has been located, and with it the opportunity to finally get some answers.

Investigate Test Site Moriah to uncover the mysteries hidden within the top-secret research facility, hidden away for years.
Find new items and upgrade unique abilities that can be used throughout the Quarantine Zone.
Enhance your arsenal with new suppressed weapons and take over robot weaponry when you need some extra firepower.

Atomfall's The Red Strain will launch on Sept. 16 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows PC, PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 for $19.99.
