We asked ourselves: what if we combined the drive of an auto shooter with the unpredictability of a roguelike game, and added base development on top? Plus the zombie apocalypse setting. That's how we came up with FatalZone. In this game, a single warrior goes out on a raid against an undead horde, and it's up to you whether they'll come back home.

Key features

Risk your merc for loot

Choose a character and send them on deadly raids to gather the resources you need to upgrade your base. You'll find supply crates packed with money, resources, and extremely useful powerups. Particularly dangerous foes will also drop chests containing skills, including speed boosts, RPGs, drones, and much more. Just remember that no one lives forever, and any battle can be your character's last.

Endless variety of characters

Every fighter is unique. Some are heavily armored, others wield deadly weapons, and a few have abilities that can turn the tide of battle. Their skills improve over the course of the game, and viral mutations add an element of unpredictability — your entire playstyle could change on a dime. No two characters are the same, and only you decide what your team will look like.

Variability, Mutations, and Unique Builds

Contact with the infected is never free of consequences. The virus changes the human body, either making it stronger or breaking it down. You can attempt to cure your fighter, or you can take a risk and try to use the mutation to your advantage. In FatalZone, the mutation system is intertwined with regular progression and the weapons you find during raids. The same fighter could become something very different: a berserker, a glass cannon, a crazed biotech, or something entirely indescribable. Our carefully constructed progression system accommodates this seed of chaos, making every excursion an experiment in its own right and sending overall variability through the roof.

Extraction as a strategy

Sometimes your best move is to turn back. The helicopter in FatalZone can extract you along with your loot and resources. Extractions have a solid schedule: at first, they come every 2 minutes, but less often after that. At the same time, your Hospital level increases the chances of a successful extraction. Remember: running away alive is a victory.

Upgrade your base

We didn't want the base to be a simple menu between runs. We made it into a proper sanctuary, a dynamic base of operations in your fight for survival. This is where you’ll patch up and train your characters, upgrade your weapons, hire mercs, and make strategic decisions.

Procedural locations

5 locations to explore. Send your Mercenaries to explore various territories and acquire valuable resources to improve your base. Procedural generation guarantees that no two runs will be alike. Plus, unexpected encounters with unique monsters will force you to adapt your strategy. We wanted every raid to feel like a new adventure and keep the tension fresh.

Mistakes Have a Price

Power has a price in this word. In FatalZone, characters die permanently, along with all their skills, weapons, and entire progression history. Evacuations occur based on a schedule, forcing players to make a choice between risk and reward. Will you dash for that fat loot and risk losing it all, or retreat to safety with more modest spoils? We leave tactics entirely up to the player. Your mercenaries live and die based on the tactical choices you make.
