Mythworks has a unique gaming experience available at Pax Unplugged this year. If you've ever heard of a megagame, they are running their game SCIRE, which promises to be a truely unique experience:

This year we are running SCIRE (Self Contained Industrial Residential Environment), a CBR+PNK + Weird megagame where a mysterious Event locks down a massive arcology. Over 60 players, split across eight zones, play out the crisis in real time as residents, crews, and rival corporations all try to understand and influence what is happening inside the SCIRE.

Players can join diverse crews like Gangs, Heist Crews, Corpo Security, Sanitation Workers, Performers, Rockers, Cultists, and Journalists, each with their own objectives and relationships. Outside the walls, three corporations and the shadowy EARLs operate as information brokers, trading intel and pushing their own agendas. It sits somewhere between tabletop RPG, live event, and social strategy game.

FAQ

What is a “megagame”?
A megagame is a roleplaying game/board game hybrid for very large player counts, often 50 or more.

Is this a regular RPG session?
No. The core experience is one of 8 tables, each run by one GM. They all play into the larger story. The format is a multi-team megagame with a central mystery driven by the players.

Do players move between tables?
Yes! Complexity slowly builds. At first, players at one table with one GM. Travel between areas eventually unlocks during play, with GMs staying fixed to facilitate their area.

Is this the first time SCIRE has been played?
No, its premiere was this year at GenCon for 30+ players in five districts. Pax Unplugged gets the expanded version, now with 60+ players!
