ModRetro has been head down recently, probably due to the upcoming M64. That said, they aren't done with their flagship device, the Chromatic. One of the best retro creations of our time, there are two fresh games returning for GameBoys everywhere. Croc 2 and Chikyū Kaihō Gun ZAS are certainly completely different, but are an example of the wide variety ModRetro has to offer. These will even work on your old GameBoys! Check out the news below.

Originally released as a Japanese exclusive in 1992, ZAS is one of the most technically ambitious shooters on the Game Boy. Known for its dense projectile patterns, fast-moving stages, and massive mechanical boss battles, it delivers a high-intensity, precision-driven experience that never slows down.

Alongside it, Croc returns for his second adventure in Croc 2 as a vibrant 2D platforming classic, sending players across colorful worlds filled with puzzles, collectibles, and hidden secrets. This re-release introduces modern enhancements like auto-save support and an optional Max Life mode, making it easier for today’s players to jump in while preserving the charm of the original.

Together, the two titles showcase the range of retro gameplay, pairing fast-paced arcade action with nostalgic, exploration-driven platforming.
