Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater release date revealed

The release date for Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater, the highly anticipated remake of Metal Gear Solid 3, has been announced. Snake Eater will launch on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam on August 28th, 2025 and digital pre-orders are now available. Along with the release date was the release of a new trailer, which showcases members of the infamous Cobra Unit and teased the return of Snake vs Monkey. LOS ANGELES – February 12, 2025 – Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KONAMI) today announced METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER will release Aug. 28 on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam®. A new trailer shown during today’s PlayStation State of Play event revealed members of the infamous Cobra Unit and teased the return of SNAKE VS MONKEY – a fan-favorite special game for the PlayStation and Steam versions of the game*. Pre-orders for digital versions of METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER start later today.

METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER will be a faithful remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater originally released in 2004 for the PlayStation®2. A new generation of players and loyal fans alike can experience the origin story of the famed BIG BOSS, and witness how his legend was forged in the crucible of Operation Snake Eater. The remake will star the original voice characters, rich storyline and expansive features of combat survival in harsh environments evolved with unprecedented graphics and immersive sound.

What’s in the (cardboard) box!:

The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the Sneaking DLC Pack giving players multiple outfits and equipment to use while infiltrating enemy lines. The Sneaking DLC Pack will also be sold separately after launch. Additionally, the Digital Deluxe Edition grants players 48 hours of early access to play the game ahead of launch. Players can suit up with Snake’s White Tuxedo uniform as a pre-order bonus.

Physical retail versions of the Day 1 “Tactical Edition” also include the items in the Sneaking DLC Pack and Snake’s White Tuxedo uniform as an early purchase bonus.
