Magic: The Gathering - Set a course for the Edge of Eternities on August 1st

The next Magic: The Gathering set is Edge of Eternities, Magic’s take on Space Fantasy. This is an interesting concept, as this set takes us to the literal edge of the Blind Eternities. With Edge of Eternities, some classic creature types are returning, and brand new mechanics befitting the space setting, but let’s start with some new cards not tied to any new mechanics:

Returning Classics

A space Lhurgoyf is terrifying enough, but we also have the return of Eldrazi and Slivers.

New Mechanics

Warp

Warp is an alternative cost that allows you to play a card from your hand for its warp cost. You then exile that permanent at the beginning of your next end step. You may cast it from exile later on.

Station

Station is a new mechanic that allows you to tap creatures to add charge counters to the permanent with Station. Once that permanent has enough charge counters, it will gain the listed ability.

Void

The new keyword Void is found on a variety of cards, and checks to see if a nonland permanent left the battlefield this turn or if a spell was warped this turn. If either is the case, then the Void ability will trigger.

Lander

Lander is a new artifact token that allows you to pay two generic mana, tap, and sacrifice it to search your library for a basic land. This feels befitting of exploring strange new worlds.

Art Treatments

As with any new Magic: The Gathering set, Edge of Eternities will feature a variety of new art treatments for players to collect:

Stellar Sights

These bonus cards are found in Play Boosters and Collector Boosters and feature lands throughout Magic's history.

Borderless Poster Stellar Sights

Borderless Special Guests

Borderless Surreal Space

Japan Showcase

Viewport Lands

Singularity Foil Headliner Card

The headliner card for Edge of Eternities is a special version of Sothera, The Supervoid featuring unique foiling that digital images can't capture. You'll have to seek one out for yourself to see the special foil treatment:
