Anytime we get to go into space in a game, I am all in on the concept. No combat is a draw for sure, and I look forward to seeing how the puzzles work.

Zaventem, Belgium - Thursday, 4th December 2025 — Independent studio, Cognition Europe, has announced its debut title, sci-fi narrative adventure and exploration game, Lunar Strike, will lift-off in May 2026.

Set to land on PC and console platforms, Lunar Strike is available to wishlist now on Steam, and sees players on a mission to preserve humanity’s lunar legacy as it faces annihilation from the heavens.

Lunar Strike’s launch window was announced as part of PC Gaming Show: Most Wanted, which debuted a brand-new trailer introducing a number of key characters the protagonist - astro-archivist and tech-augmented Bo - will encounter on their mission to save the final lunar colony and safeguard as many relics and artefacts before being lost forever.

The trailer also features theatre and TV actor, Abbe Tanenbaum, one of the performers in Lunar Strike, singing an original interpretation of the iconic Frank Sinatra song, Fly Me To The Moon.

Lunar Strike Key Features

  • Rich, multi-faceted narrative: Preserve the culture of the last remaining lunar colony while making game-altering decisions that impact the story, unravelling a new future for humanity.
  • No Combat: Lunar Strike focuses on survival, scanning, puzzle solving, and decision-making. The gameplay unfolds under time pressures, environmental degradation, and mounting ethical tension.
  • Grounded in Hard Science: Developed in collaboration with space researchers, the game incorporates realistic systems and hazards, including 1/6th lunar gravity, toxic Moon dust, and real-world physics.
  • Cultural Heritage as Gameplay: Preserve humanity’s story on the Moon. Through 3D scanning, photogrammetry, and archival logic, capture the final traces of lunar life before its collapse.
  • Rooted in Real Ethics and Science Fiction: Inspired by real-life heritage efforts, built by creators with backgrounds in cultural preservation and storytelling, Lunar Strike invites thoughtful engagement with space exploration.
In a sign of celestial alignment, the upcoming release of Lunar Strike will fall within a few months of NASA’s Artemis II mission, which will see a manned orbit of the Moon for the first time in more than 50 years.
