Looter shooter The First Descendant is now available

Team up and defeat the Vulgus in the new looter shooter The First Descendant, available now for the PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. The First Descendant transports players to Ingris where they will fight again giant enemies and invading aliens in hopes of ensuring the survival of humanity. SEOUL, South Korea – July 2, 2024 – Today, NEXON and NEXON Games have globally released their highly anticipated free-to-play looter shooter, The First Descendant, on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Series X|S, PC via Steam and NVIDIA GeForce NOW. Starting now, players around the world will become Descendants and combat a multitude of alien invaders for the survival of humanity and to protect the land of Ingris in either single-player or and multiplayer online co-op.

To celebrate, the development team has released a new trailer showcasing content from the game’s pre-season battle pass which can be viewed via YouTube HERE.

The pre-season (initial launch) period of The First Descendant will introduce new and previous playtest players to a Battle Pass to collect rewards as well as never-before-played Descendants – Esiemo, Enzo, and Yujin, weapons, Void Intercept Battles, Instance Dungeons and more. NEXON Games plans to follow the launch with a first update in the fifth week, which will be followed by the first season update in the eighth week. Season 1 Episode: Invasion will launch in late August focusing on a new Descendant and a fan-favorite Descendant’s story, new Colossus and dungeon, new weapon and more. After the first season update, the following series of Seasons will occur about every three months.

The First Descendant transports players to the continent of Ingris, where they will fight against giant Colossi and the Vulgus alien invaders for the survival of humans. Fans can experience a breathtaking story through various missions to grow stronger and slowly uncover the Descendants’ hidden secret. The First Descendant offers a unique and beautiful atmosphere through high-quality fields developed within Unreal Engine 5 where players can gain a new perspective of reality and fantasy coexisting in one place.

The First Descendant introduces a variety of features including:

• Charming & Unique Characters – Play as various Descendants each with distinctive concepts, battle styles, and stories with customization options for all. Encounter Descendants that appear as NPCs within the game for an immersive experience and play Bunny’s exclusive story quest with immersive cinematics.
• Exciting Battles and Dynamic Action – Experience the thrill of combat as each Descendant with unique skill sets, free movements and chain actions through Grappling Hooks, and firearms with unique effects
• Void Intercept Battles (Giant Boss Raids) – Defeat the massive Colossi with unique attack patterns in Void Intercept Battles by targeting weak points with unique strategies, either as a team in a 4-player cooperative mode or solo
• Infiltration Operations (Instance Dungeons) – Join dungeons available in both normal and hard difficulties to earn rewards. Hard difficulty Infiltration missions allow you to add extra challenge options called modifiers before starting the mission. The more challenge options you add, the more points you’ll be able to earn for more rewards.
• Motivating Play and Growth – Players are encouraged to continuously grow their Descendants with a wide array of distinct equipment by clearing scenarios or World missions and gathering loot through challenging tasks.
