If you know me, you know that flight is a personal passion of mine. To the point where I invest heavily in hardware, VR, peripherals, a Rowsfire panel, and even a motion simulator. Anything that pushes flight to the next level. Well, today I found out that Honeycomb Aeronautical, one of the top tier flight simulation peripheral manufacturers, has shipped their much-anticipated Bravo Throttle Quadrant LITE. Their LITE line is aimed at folks who are just getting into flight simulation but want to take it to a new level. This four quadrant hs a dedicated parking brake pull/twist switch, a large physical trim wheel (that's what trims out the nose height to keep the plane in a smooth climb or descent rather than pushing and pulling the yoke), as well as four levers for either multi-engine aircraft or to be mapped to other things like flaps, speed brakes, landing gear with LED indicator for status, and more. It also has a swappable levers, adjustable tension, reverse thrusters, and so much more. For what Honeycomb is considering an "entry level" throttle kit, it's remarkably well equipped! Let's hear from the team a bit about it:

Stripping away unnecessary complexity, the Bravo Throttle Quadrant LITE maintains the signature build quality Honeycomb products are renowned for, while still offering remarkable value for pilots taking their debut flight, or seasoned pros wishing to concentrate on the essential basics.

Mastering the complexity of a plane’s cockpit controls can seem daunting for pilots in training, but with fewer switches to operate and memorize, the Bravo Throttle Quadrant LITE proves ideal for those looking to reduce mile high anxiety.

More in flight joy than jeopardy, the Bravo Throttle Quadrant LITE features all of the essential controls required, combined with the same mechanical design, lever tension, detents and build quality as the standard Bravo Throttle Quadrant. Those concerned that essential corners may be cut, can rest easy, safe in the knowledge that the Bravo Throttle Quadrant LITE still boasts four interchangeable levers, a precise trim wheel and an integrated parking brake that delivers authentic handling from take-off to landing.

Bravo Throttle Quadrant LITE works perfectly with all major aircraft featured in Flight Simulator™ - simmers can experience the true realistic thrill of flying commercial airliners, with jet handles included, as well as support for reversers, flaps, gear, and dual-engine commercial operations. Everything essential for general aviation, turboprop, and jet flying remains intact.

Let's check out the trailer to see the device in action before we check out the key features (though I somewhat covered them above):

Key Features

  • Streamlined for Entry-Level Pilots - essential controls only, giving new simmers an easy, distraction-free way to focus on the fundamentals.
  • Removes the Complexity Without Losing The Feel - letting beginners build confidence from their very first flight.
  • Customisable Throttle Quadrant - four swappable levers with adjustable tension, including interchangeable GA-style lever sets and flap-indent inlays.
  • Exchangeable Flap Detent Inlays - swap between included detent inlays to match the flap behaviour of various general aviation airplanes, giving you a more authentic feel during takeoff, approach, and landing.
  • Integrated Trim Wheel - make precise pitch adjustments with a smooth, high-resolution wheel designed to give you better control during climb, cruise, and approach without taking up extra space on your desk.
  • Parking Brake Control - dedicated control allows you to release or engage your parking brake - designed to be simple and intuitive.
  • Landing Gear Lever with LED status indicator - dedicated control with a bright LED indicator gives you feedback of gear position, mirroring real cockpit behaviour for more confident, immersive takeoffs and landings.
  • Adjustable Tension For Axes - fine-tune axis resistance with the tension knob to match your unique flying preferences.
  • Honeycomb Aeronautical plans to provide a range of Microsoft® Flight Simulator 2024 aircraft profiles that can be imported for use with the Bravo Throttle Quadrant LITE, ensuring a smooth and hassle free set-up process. In addition, a simple button-mapping process for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 will be made available, ensuring simple configuration no matter what version of Flight Simulator users are running.

These obviously pair up with their other device, the Alpha Flight Controls LITE, which provides a yoke with programmable buttons, hats and switches for looking around the cockpit, and more. Both of these together should provide a very realistic experience for a number of smaller craft like multiple Cessna craft and similar.

The CPO for Honeycomb Aeronautical, Mare Küpper had this to say about the device:

"The launch of the Bravo Throttle Quadrant LITE is a key addition to our LITE range of hardware, a project that conveys our core values and dedication to the flight community, providing practical hardware that doesn’t compromise quality, nor break the bank. It’s important to us that the Honeycomb Aeronautical brand is one of inclusion, catering to highly skilled enthusiasts, but also accommodating to those new to the genre. We look forward to welcoming more pilots into the Honeycomb community with the launch of the Bravo Throttle Quadrant LITE and to continue the organic growth of our brand throughout 2026 and beyond.”

The Bravo Throttle Quadrant Lite Controller is available by the time you read this, shipping globally at the Honeycomb Aeronautical webshop €199.99 / $199.99 / £169.99.

Stay tuned as we'll be taking a closer look at these very soon!
