Govee lights up CES 2025 with some new goodies

I’m a big fan of Govee’s lighting solutions, having installed them just about everywhere you can think of. I have a Govee system that reacts to what’s on my TV, bathing the wall behind it with the same light for both ambience and reduced eye strain. I have a strip around one of my desks to brighten things up for filming when I need. I even have strips around the front edges of my house for ambient holiday lighting. Time and again they have delivered cool ways to bring a space to life, and at CES 2025 they’ve got three new goodies to offer up in their home lighting experiences. Specifically, they’re announcing the Gaming Pixel Light, Mini Panel Lights and Table Lamp 2 Pro x Sound by JBL. In addition to new products, Govee will be showcasing new AI Lighting and Matter Integration technologies to help enhance their existing and upcoming home lighting systems. Let’s dig into all three, as well as the updates to their existing lines.

Govee COB Strip Light Pro

For indoor lighting, the team is showcasing the Govee Uplighter Floor Lamp, Strip Light with Skyline Kit, Ceiling Light Pro and dining lamps for curated atmospheres. Outdoor they have a few more updates to their Outdoor Lamp Post Lights, Govee Outdoor UpDown Wall Light, and Outdoor Pathway Lights 2. Both of these inside and outside lights are great for not only lighting your exterior spaces, but also are great for punching up your holiday decorations with ambiance. We personally used them in our Halloween decorations this year to bathe the space in orange and purple glow to raise the visibility of our white 3D printed skulls, as well to highlight the bright spots on our dragon outside. The app features entire “shows” you can select, allowing you to bring a whole scene to life in an automated way if you aren’t into programming your own scenes.

One of the big advancements from Govee is the Govee RGBIC Mini Panel Lights. These little squares can be combined with a special connector that allows them to connect on any of the four sides, giving users the chance to create their own shapes or even words to bring their space to life. These are capable of synchronizing not only with your other Govee devices, but also dancing along with music and sound. They can also be controlled with Siri, Alexa, or Google for full voice control. You can combine up to 120 blocks, giving you a lot of opportunity to create awesome scenes. The Mini Panel Lights came out in November of 2024 with a 10 pack costing $99.99, a 20 pack at $149.99, and a 10 panel extension at $59.99.

A new product called the Pixel Light is like a Light Brite on steroids. Made of hundreds of little squares, you can use your phone and Govee’s advanced AI controls to build awesome pixel art scenes within seconds. Simply say “I’d like to show a colorful race car” and the app will not only build it, but display it on the grid. It even has gif support, allowing you to create entire moving scenes. These are still TBD on price, but we’ll see them come to life in Q2 of 2025.

The next new product is the Govee Table Lamp 2 Pro x Sound by JBL. This is a downward-firing speaker with an awesome lighting system that match up with the “Every Occasion Sound” by JBL Audio Excellence. There are 16 distinct music modes, though we’ll have to hear it for ourselves to really be able to share anything about those. We do, however, know that it has a whopping 210 independently-controlled LED beads pushing upwards of 600 lumens of soft light. This is a fully portable speaker, pushing 10W of power in the 2.5” speaker, and sporting a 5200mAh battery with rapid charging and long battery life. No price on these yet, but we do know they’re coming in the latter part of Q2 2025.

Using AI to control your Govee lights

The Govee Uplighter Floor Lamp is the last completely new product from Govee at CES (though you’ll see there are a lot of improvements to their other pieces of equipment). The Uplighter is a dual-sided multifunctional lamp that can operate like a traditional reading lamp light, but when you’re wanting cool ambient light, switch to an awesome upward-firing cascade of cool colored lighting.

Speaking of ambient lighting, the Skyline Kit is a premium wall light that uses a blend of 5-in-1 lamp beads to create a full wall wash of color. The aim is simple – even coverage, and from what we’ve seen, it does exactly that.

Taking the lights to the roof, Govee is updating their ceiling light with the Govee Ceiling Light Pro. These are dual RGBIC+WW (Red, Green, Blue, White, and Warm White) ceiling lights, capable of 16 million colors and a whopping 3500 lumens of brightness. They’re also adding Pendant lighting for kitchen islands soon, so you can dress up your entire kitchen in addressable light.

Using an app with Govee's 2025 products

Heading outside for their final three updates, Govee is brightening up our outside spaces. That means an update to their Govee Outdoor UpDown Wall Light – a 360 degree dual-side porch light that offers 1200 lumens of bright white output and 360 degrees of RGBIC ambient lighting with a 20,000 hour lightspan. I’ve seen these mounted on walls, or even just placed on the ground facing upwards to color a wall.

The Govee Outdoor Lamp Post Lights are your traditional stick lights, offering six dynamic color zones and 10 meters of light coverage at 2000 lumens and full RGBIC support. They even have motion detection and infrared sensors.

A brief look at what Govee had to show at CES 2025

Finally, the team is updating their Givee Outdoor Lights 2. These now offer four section color flow with 60 lighting presets, 400 lumens of brightness, and full app control.

If you are into lighting your space with lights you can see where Govee’s absolutely staggering array of solutions probably has whatever you need. I’m eager to try out a few of these for my own holiday decorations. Drop by their CES booth to be fully immersed in all the colors you can handle.
