Nintendo laid out plans today for some high-profile indie games coming to the Switch soon. Among them was the announcement that CrossCode will make its way to the console some time this year. Players take on the role of Lea, who is herself playing a futuristic MMORPG with much higher stakes than your typical loot grind. The game blends an SNES-inspired soundtrack and graphics with fast-paced, hectic combat.
CrossCode was well received when it launched on PC last year. Developer Radical Fish hasn’t announced an exact release date, or if anything will be changed for the Switch version, but if CrossCode piques your interest, there’s a PC demo available now.
A committed indoor kid, Bryan moved from Pittsburgh to Los Angeles for a prettier landscape to ignore. They can be lured outside with promises of taco trucks and film festivals, and enjoy trawling through used book stores for works on the occult. Bryan has been gaming since the SNES era and is a sucker for good pixel art.
