Today, Lost In Cult and Fallen Tree Games announced that The Precinct's original soundtrack will be released on vinyl and cassette.

Lost In Cult Records x Fallen Tree Games are proud to present The Precinct Original Soundtrack on vinyl and cassette.

Ride off into the sunset alongside The Precinct’s evocative synthwave vibes — perfectly capturing the essence of 1980s cinema and television in physical formats befitting of the era.
Be transported back in time through The Precinct’s atmospheric soundtrack. Composers Gavin Harrison and Sleepless Nights bring the action with a sweeping exploration of the synthwave genre, from future synth vocal anthems to get your blood pumping through to noir, brooding dark synth ambience.

The collection features brand new artwork by Salmorejo Studio, capturing the essence of synthwave perfectly – retro-futurist neon-coloured grids and sunsets contrasted by classic 80s cars and cityscapes: Perfectly encapsulating the aural synthwave aesthetic and transferring it across to glorious limited edition vinyl.

But that’s not all. To truly capture the core of the 1980s experience, Lost In Cult Records is releasing a limited edition transparent purple cassette edition. Get behind the wheel of your Dodge Diplomat and relive The Precinct the only way a true renegade would – through tape.

The Precinct art director Lewis Boadle gave his thoughts on The Precinct’s OST:

“The Precinct is a love letter to the cop movies and TV shows of the 1980s.

They were gritty, stylish, sometimes over-the-top. But always rich with atmosphere. Those stories left a lasting mark on us, and the music was a huge part of that. You could feel the city breathing through the soundtrack. Synths pulsed like a heartbeat. Saxophones wailed through the night. Snare drums cracked like gunshots down a rain-soaked alley.

“When we started thinking about music for The Precinct, we knew it needed to honour the sound of those classic films and shows, while also feeling fresh and relevant. It wasn’t nostalgia for the sake of it; it should stand on its own and still evoke a world that the player could lose themself in.

“Gavin Harrison was an obvious choice. We’ve worked with him on many of our games, and his obsession with vintage analogue synths borders on obsession! Jonny Adams (Sleepless Nights) caught our attention with 'Fixation', a haunting, melancholic track that instantly felt right for our neon-noir setting.

“We invited both artists to collaborate on the soundtrack, and they delivered something truly special. Their creativity and attention to detail helped shape the emotional core of The Precinct. We’re proud to partner with Lost in Cult Records to bring you this music on vinyl and cassette.”
