Fate of the Fellowship, Asmodee's Lord of the Rings/Pandemic mash-up, is finally back in stock

The game quickly sold out during its initial release in 2025.

Lord of the Rings fans who missed out on getting a copy of Fate of the Fellowship may get another opportunity soon. The game, which combines the Lord of the Rings IP with a game system derived from Pandemic, is now back in stock at the Asmodee store. Asmodee has noted that a second wave of release is coming to retail, providing some hope that individual retailers may get copies even if Asmodee sells out a second time.

In Fate of the Fellowship, players attempt to stem the tide of Sauron's forces while providing cover for Frodo and Sam's journey to Mount Doom. Each player controls two characters with unique actions and attempts to complete various objectives to clear the way for Frodo to toss the One Ring into the fires of Mount Doom. Over the course of the game, players will need to balance protecting their havens, taking enemy strongholds and keeping Sauron's gaze diverted from the region that Frodo is currently traveling through. While this may sound a little complicated, anyone who's played through Pandemic should catch onto the game mechanics quite quickly.

Fate of the Fellowship is one of the crown jewels in Asmodee's rapidly expanding Lord of the Rings line. Ever since Embracer Group took control of the media rights for The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings, Asmodee (which was formerly owned by Embracer but has since spun off into its own publicly traded company) has published a steady stream of Lord of the Rings-themed games. Most of these games have been met with critical acclaim, including Fate of the Fellowship and a pair of trick-taking games based on The Fellowship of the Rings and The Two Towers.
