Embark Studios reveals new weapons and gadgets for The Finals Season 5

The Finals Season 5 is just around the corner, and with it will come a handful of new weapons and gadgets. Heavies are getting a new rifle that fires two bullets at once and a gadget that fires an anchor that tethers players, objects, and objectives. Mediums are getting a new triple barrel shotgun with dragon’s breath rounds that sets their opponents and the environment ablaze. Lights are getting a gadget that creates a vortex that will suck in any players, objectives, or objects in the area. All in all, the start of this season will yield rather strong additions. Dec. 3, 2024 – Stockholm, Sweden — Today, Embark Studios unveiled Season 5 of THE FINALS, the free-to-play team-based multiplayer shooter, available on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X | S and GeForce Now. Over the past year since launch, THE FINALS reshaped what it means to compete in the world’s ultimate game show through new maps, modes and high-stakes chaos, and this latest season takes it to the next stage. Launching on Dec. 12, THE FINALS Season 5 will transport players to the streets of Bernal for the most high-stakes competition yet.

This magical town is set in the shadow of the awe-inspiring Peña de Bernal, one of the largest monoliths in the world. The Arena blends rich culture with the showstopping dynamism of THE FINALS. Traverse the narrow, cobblestone streets of its colorful colonial plaza which serves as the map’s heart, leap from rooftop to rooftop, or carve your own path right through the walls. With destructible environments, turn Bernal’s historic charm into the Arena of your dreams. Will you uncover its secrets or leave it in ruins? The choice is yours!

Season 5 also introduces a whole new way for players to connect with each other through Clubs, a social system inspired by real-world sports teams. Whether solo or in a squad, Clubs offer new ways for players to connect, collaborate and compete. Contestants can complete challenges as a team with Club Contracts to earn XP and fans, or use Team-Up Requests to easily find teammates for their favorite modes.

Players can also expect new weapons and gadgets, including:

New Weapon — ShAK-12: A powerhouse rifle for the Heavy, the ShAK-12 unleashes two bullets per shot to deliver devastating stopping power with every trigger pull.

New Weapon — Cerberus 12GA: A break-action triple barrel shotgun for the Medium class, equipped with incendiary shells capable of igniting contestants and the environment in fiery chaos.

New Gadget — Gravity Vortex: A deployable gadget for the Light class that creates a remote-triggered singularity, pulling players, objects and objectives in. It is perfect for trapping foes or suspending objectives.

New Gadget — Lockbolt Launcher: A Heavy gadget that fires an anchor, tethering up to three players, objectives or items. Anchored players can move but will be quickly pulled back if they stray too far.

Season 5 also features the return of the fan-favorite sponsor ISEUL-T, alongside two brand-new sponsors, DISSUN and VAIYA, who bring their unique styles and energy to the roster. Additionally, this season marks an exciting expansion as THE FINALS launches on PlayStation 4, welcoming a whole new audience to the action. Players can look forward to a packed season of updates, including balance adjustments for existing weapons and gadgets, quality-of-life improvements, and cutting-edge support for a new 120Hz mode on PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X, delivering a smoother, faster gameplay experience.
