Download The Primals into your ears as they perform at Download Festival 2026

The Band Brings Iconic Music from Critically Acclaimed MMORPG  to the Vaunted Festival Stages of Donington Park

Dancing Green in Final Fantasy XIV

Today, Square Enix announced that The Primals, the official band of Final Fantasy XIV, will perform at the UK's Download Festival on June 12th, 2026 at Donington Park.

Announced alongside a slew of other bands performing at the festival, the announcement was made across official FFXIV social media channels, led with a short video message led by FFXIV Sound Director Masayoshi Soken. The video message can be seen here:
Since forming, THE PRIMALS have headlined sold out shows across Japan, including Nippon Budokan and the Yokohama Arena, with lottery allocated tickets continuing to be in phenomenal demand, alongside appearances at dedicated Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival events across North America, Europe, South Korea, and China. Short behind the scenes videos of two concerts can be seen below:
The appearance at Download Festival in 2026 marks the first time the band has performed a standalone concert outside of Asia or the much-anticipated Global Fan Festival events that take place around the world. Joining the history books alongside some of the most iconic artists from across the rock and metal world, THE PRIMALS will bring their trademark energy, musical variety and a show quite unlike anything before seen at the festival, it’s an event that is not to be missed! I've never seen The Primals live myself, but I've enjoyed some of their recorded shows in the past and have heard great things. For more on all things Final Fantasy XIV, stay tuned to GamingTrend.
