Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes Enters our Orbit in Early 2026

I have never seen Battlestar Galactica, but this game has piqued my interest enough that I might give it a watch. Commanding a fleet of spaceships is right up my alley.

PARIS (Dec. 4, 2025) – Publisher Dotemu (Absolum, MARVEL Cosmic Invasion) and developer Alt Shift (Crying Suns) in collaboration with Universal Products & Experiences today unveiled a new trailer for Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes. This innovative tactical video game inspired by the iconic sci-fi franchise, Battlestar Galactica, immerses players into intense, narratively driven situations in an ever-changing, roguelite-style fight for the fleet's survival. Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes will launch on PC in early 2026. 

Commanders can see the pressure and peril that awaits in today’s trailer. The new gameplay samples the tense decisions that must be made to keep a fleeing band of ships intact through bouts of combat and morale-threatening disputes among personnel, all to survive their escape.

In Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes, players command a fleet of spaceships fleeing humanity’s settled worlds, known as the Twelve Colonies. Pursued by the ruthless Cylons, survival depends on tactical brilliance and management of player’s fleets to prevent sabotage from within. Encounter planets and galactic points of interest, decide whether to spend precious resources addressing incidents within the fleet or upgrading forces and make the most of the crew’s time while preparing for assault; enemy Cylon ships will close in with each action and turn players take.

Once the deadly Cylons make contact with forces, a battle begins. True to the iconic franchise’s idea of persevering against an overwhelming enemy, Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes’ skirmishes center around a simple but key concept of survival: “resist until you can jump.”

Deploy fighters from hangars and direct them in real-time combat scenarios to dispatch the Cylons, minimizing damage to the central ship while wielding its onboard defenses against the gravest threats. Players endure until they can flee to another sector of the galaxy, choosing their destination (and potential rewards) based on their most dire needs.

Each run in Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes offers new lessons as players adapt to defy their brutal odds of survival, and the tactical options broaden as they unlock additional squadrons, weapons and traits as well as meta upgrades to benefit future runs. Players’ decisions meaningfully alter their fleet’s fate and will lead fighters through high-risk battles as well as jump to new sectors before the Cylons turn ships into astral debris. With humanity’s haven in the Twelve Colonies now uninhabitable, steadfast tactical leadership is the only hope of surviving the journey to humankind’s last hope, the Battlestar Galactica.
