A sequel to Atomic Heart made a lot of sense, especially after engaging with 10 million players. But today's announcement at Summer Game Fest is even more mind-blowing. After revealing Atomic Heart 2, Mundfish surprised us all with a new game in the universe, The Cube. Even more, it's an MMORPG that looks to defy genres in an attempt to craft something unique and unusual. One things for sure, we await it with open arms. Check out the trailer and details below.
Paphos, Cyprus — June 6th, 2025 - Today, Mundfish is proud to unveil The CUBE, a new multiplayer RPG shooter set within the retrofuturistic world of Atomic Heart. Revealed during Summer Game Fest, the trailer showed a glimpse of the giant, levitating structure that will serve as the center of this story set in the Atomic Universe. The CUBE is currently in development for PC and consoles.
Several years after the events of Atomic Heart, the world stands on the brink of a new threat. A mysterious giant levitating structure known as The Cube has become the epicenter of increasingly dangerous phenomena, and in order to save humanity, players must plunge deep into its secrets—and survive. On the surface, it’s a geometrically perfect object, and in truth it’s an anomalous, shifting place swarming with vicious enemies. But most terrifying of all is the equation hidden at the Cube’s core. Deciphering the equation can save humanity; failing to do so means extinction.
“At Mundfish, we were the first in the industry to implement a technology that allows thousands of objects to move and rotate simultaneously across massive stretches of terrain — online and in real time. No other game has ever done this before.” shared Robert Bagratuni, Founder and CEO of Mundfish, and Game Director of The CUBE. He continues, “This became possible thanks to our innovative proprietary split-rendering system, which redefines how motion is handled in interactive environments. The technology delivers maximum performance even under extreme load. In The CUBE, physics, ballistics, and gravity feel completely natural — but under the hood, it’s powered by rocket science. The system enables seamless transitions, precise object tracking, and synchronized multiplayer in a living, ever-evolving world. It’s a true technological breakthrough.”
