Atomic Heart 2 arrives at Summer Game Fest in reveal trailer

Atomic Heart is exactly my kind of game. With the last piece of DLC coming into view, it's time to move forward. Today at Summer Game Fest, Mundfish did just that. The first trailer for Atomic Heart 2 is stunning, and you can check it out and more details on the game below.

Paphos, Cyprus – June 6th, 2025 – Just a week after the announcement that Atomic Heart has surpassed 10 million players worldwide, Mudfish has revealed today at Summer Game Fest that Atomic Heart 2, the sequel to their retrofuturistic action-adventure first-person shooter, is in active development for PC and consoles. The announcement was accompanied by a brand new trailer featuring a fresh cast of characters, exotic new locations, a glimpse into the new arsenal and abilities, as well as returning fan-favorites from the original.

Atomic Heart 2 is an action-adventure role-playing game set in a retrofuturistic alternate-history universe full of diverse opportunities, with a strong focus on narrative, RPG elements, and player freedom. The sequel to Atomic Heart introduces an all-new story unfolding in a living world, with the events of the game now expanding to a global scale.

Much like its predecessor, Atomic Heart 2 is set in an alternate-history retrofuturistic universe. In this utopian world of science and technology, humans lived in harmony with their loyal and fervent robots. Unfortunately, what was meant to bring about an era of peace and prosperity at the hands of advanced robotics and AI, has now spiraled into chaos. Atomic Heart 2 picks up with a world on the brink of collapse. It’s up to the player to prevent it—however, beware, as the truth runs deeper than anyone may realize.
