Ahoy Mateys! Pirates VR: Jolly Roger sets sail on Meta Quest

Do ye be likin' immersion? Yearn fer a life as a stinky pirate type, sailin the high seas, exploring mysterious shipwrecks, and plunderin'? Well...I have a story fer ye!

Ok, enough of that – to kick off your weekend, the team at Split Light Studio has announced that they've shipped the highly-anticipated Pirates VR: Jolly Roger on Meta Quest 3 and 3S! The game shipped previously on Steam (Very Positive) and PSVR2 (4 stars out of 5) and was very well received, with folks citing the interactivity and combat as real highlights. Here's a bit from the team about what this game is all about:

Pirates VR: Jolly Roger is a first-person action-adventure VR title that lets you live out your ultimate pirate fantasy. And the Caribbean tropics hide far more than just mysterious shipwrecks… Pursue the fabled treasure of Davy Jones, fight cursed pirates and undead skeletons, solve puzzles, uncover mysteries, and avoid traps set for those greedy for fortune. You’ll be accompanied by your loyal parrot companion – after all, what kind of pirate would you be without a sarcastic bird?

The game drops players on a tropical island where sun-soaked beaches, rocky cliffs, and dark caves await discovery, along with enemies ready to fight! The immersive experience in Pirates VR is built around mechanics that require your coordination. You’ll need to light up dark corners with your lantern, reload your flintlock pistol, and hold on tight to the zipline. Above all stay sharp, solve puzzles that require physical interaction, and dodge traps that might force you to duck, dive, or jump aside.

We've also got a launch trailer to showcase some of what the team is talking about:

What are you waiting for? If you're looking for a new world to explore this weekend, it sounds like this one's a hit!

Pirates VR: Jolly Roger sets sail on Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S on February 5th, and is available now.
