We're back to recap a great week of comics we read here at GamingTrend.com last week! We have three comics to showcase this week: one from Dark Horse Comics, one from Marvel Comics, and one from Titan Comics. We also have impressions of Marvel Knights: Punisher (2025) from Shawn Taylor. At the end, keep an eye out for a preview of what we're looking at this week!

Dungeons & Dragons: The Fallbacks Series 1 – Issue #1

With a star-studded team working on the series, from writer Greg Pak to pencils from Wilton Santos; The Fallbacks are back and here to prove they are heroes of the realm. At least, most of them!

This issue is a FUN time. Starting with a group chase sequence, to showing the day to day lives of people in this area of Faerun. I really loved the colors with how bright and vibrant everything looked and made the world feel.

Even if you have no idea who Tess, Anson, Cazrin, Lark, Baldric, or Uggie are; The Fallbacks is an easy series to jump into and still have fun!

Unbreakable X-Men (2025) – Issue #1

This series follows the Uncanny X-Men series, but you don't have to read those to understand the stakes quickly. The opening pages provide a quick intro and a cast list of characters you'll be seeing.

For fans of Rogue and Gambit, this issue will be a hard read, but the way they go from different POV's to showcase what's happening is well-done. The accents are also a great time to read through as both characters have iconic speech patterns.

If you've ever wanted to get into X-Men, I would suggest doing a quick Wiki-Read about the basics, then you can jump in on this huge event called Age of Revelation!

Dead Space: Liberation – Vol. 3

As with the first two in the series, Dead Space is just as scary in Comic Book form as it is in Video Game form. The team's choice to not use word-bubbles and instead have the words floating adds to the air of chaos, nothing is normal, nothing is safe.

We follow John Carver who has had a rough go of a career. In a very Dead Space way, things go badly during a mission and John becomes the only man who can finish the job his wife started.

This story is a man who will sacrifice anything to make sure the mission is successful. If you like the Dead Space franchise, this series has been solid for providing more details about the world as a whole.

Marvel Knights: Punisher (2025) – Issue #1

Frank Castle’s war never ended, it just evolved. The Punisher: World to Come #1 drops readers into a brutal new era where vengeance feels more inevitable than justice. The art hits like a shotgun blast, and the storytelling drags you straight into the grime of Castle’s psyche. It’s not about heroes, it’s about survival. If you think you’ve seen the Punisher at his worst, think again.
