We're back to recap a great week of comics we read here at GamingTrend.com last week! We have three comics to showcase this week; two from Dark Horse Comics and one from Titan Manga. We're also pleased to announce we will be covering Marvel Comics more frequently moving forward! At the end, keep an eye out for a preview of what we're taking a look at this week! What have YOU been reading lately? Let us know in the comments!

Star Wars: Tales from the Nightlands – Issue #1/3
After Star Wars: Episode II came out, we got a lot of content about the "Young Padawan" Anakin Skywalker. Since most of that content was marked as Legends, we've not gotten a lot of Young Anakin Skywalker to replace it. Tales from the Nightlands marks a new chapter in the Book of Skywalker.
Anakin and Obi-Wan go to a funeral for a Twi'lek community member and Obi- Wan tries to teach Anakin about not only the polite way to handle himself at this type of event, but that not everything is in their control. Meanwhile, Anakin is Anakin.
If you're a fan of Anakin and Obi-Wan and want to see a fun story featuring the two of them in an era we don't get to see a lot, this story by Cavan Scott should be a fun run!

Somali and the Forest Spirit – Vol. 1-3
After winning an award for Best Manga in 2024 for Volume 1, Somali and the Forest Spirit keeps things going in the right direction with Volume 2 and 3. This beautiful and adorable story is so full of heart that it's almost guaranteed you'll shed a tear at one point or another.
The golem (the forest spirit) that Somali calls "dad" does their best to lead her to other humans in a world where humanity doomed themselves with their inability to accept others around them. Somali and Dad travel all over the world meeting new and interesting people before time runs out.
I've read quite a lot of manga and this has to be some of the most detailed artwork mixed with some of the best writing I've had the pleasure to go through! There is no doubting why this series has won awards in the past!

The Witcher: The Bear and the Butterfly – Issue #3/4
The coolest part of The Bear and the Butterfly Issue #3 was seeing Geralt prepare for his battles. While these things were generally done by the player at different creation areas, we get to see Geralt making potions and brews in multiple panels to prepare for the battles ahead.
Geralt has never been a "cuddly" character to be around, and this series shows him at a very interesting place in his career. Some of the moments seem like the "bad choice" in the game, but is very similar to the novel version of Geralt. Sometimes he can be extremely brutal.
The final issue of this run is coming up and the cliffhanger in this issue gets you more than ready to finish this story off strong!
Coming this week from GamingTrend Comics:
Impressions of Battleworld (2025) – Issue #1, Critical Role: Vox Machina Origins I – Issue #4, and Gran Familia – Vol. 1!
