Spawning in can be a chore. I had a rough day yesterday, and barely felt like turning my PC on to play a few rounds with my friends. Any boost is a nice one, and Razer has returned to their RESPAWN brand to give you that. Featuring mints now as well as gum, Razer looks to give gamers that bonus XP that can help you level up.

RESPAWN GUM

This is what I mainly remember. Originally a "caffeinated gum", RESPAWN is going a different route with new ingredients (although with at least a splash of caffeine given the green tea extract). Green tea extract and Vitamins B3, B5, and B12 are now the main event, with plenty of benefits. Green tea extract boost your brain function, alongside Vitamin B3, or niacin. Vitamin B5 can give you a bit of an energy boost by assisting with the production inside your body. B12 is a bit more popular in society, and brings nervous functionality and more energy production to the table. All together, that's a lethal package that can give you a little charge when you need it.

These sticks of gum come in three flavors at the moment: Cool Mint, Tropical Punch, and Pomegranate Watermelon. Of the three, Pomegranate Watermelon is my favorite, but all taste exactly like the description. My only qualm is that, like most gum, they do lose said flavor quickly. It's a bummer as you definitely want to get the ancillary benefits out of your gum before you chuck it out. Hopefully they can tweak the formula to get more taste out of the sticks.

RESPAWN MINTS

I was most excited about these newbies joining my virtual gunfights. These modified mints sport a bundle of boosts, alongside being caffeine and sugar free. Going in a different direction than the gum, L-theanine is an amino acid found primarily in green and black tea and some mushrooms. This supplement is built to give you respite in the middle of digital warfare, made to improve focus and add stress relief ability. Having mental clarity is a big deal while playing games, and L-theanine can give you just that.

If you're focused on the bounce back, the Recharge variant has some L-theanine, but paired with a bit of Vitamin B5 and B12 for those energy boosts. If you're wanting to chill out a bit, the Reset variant has more L-theanine in it without the extra vitamins, allowing you to take a breathe and clear your head. This one is perfect if you're playing a more immersive, cozy game and want to settle down.

There are three different flavors for the mints as well: Recharge with a Watermelon Guava and Mango Habanero Fire, and Reset with a Blackberry Vanilla. While the Watermelon Guava and Blackberry Vanilla are my favorites of the entire RESPAWN line (that will hopefully come to the gum), the Mango Habanero Fire is the most intriguing. It has a LOT of kick, and you will want to be careful if you pop more than one. My biggest probably with the mints is wanting to eat them like candy; they just are so good!

After trying this RESPAWN reboot, I'm excited to see where the brand goes. With how popular energy and hydration drinks and powders are, maybe we see Razer drop into that area? It might be crowded, but I'll bet they could figure out something tasty as they already have some awesome flavors on hand. Maybe gummies? The sky is the limit for Razer and RESPAWN. If you want to try the gum or mints, they are available in stores now; I can find them on the link above as close by as my local Circle K and 7-Eleven!
