Recently I saw the price my neighbors are paying to put up lights on their house that they then take down at the end of the holiday season. It's absolute madness and I had no interest in doing that. Instead, I wanted something permanent that looks fantastic and I can celebrate every holiday, all year round. That's where the Lumary Smart Outdoor Neon Rope Lights come in! Built around a flexible silicone diffusion system, and with enough LEDs to almost be fully visible during the day, these are as bright as they are clear. But I'm getting ahead of myself. I did an unboxing, went over all of the features, showed how to mount them up, and then showcased them in a gorgeous autumn color pattern. Without further ado, let's get started:

Installing the rope light is straightforward thanks to the included hardware. I can be hard mounted via clips, or sunk into the ground with the included stakes, and the flexibility of the silicone material allows it to bend smoothly around edges and curves to fit just about any shape. Whether you're outlining a walkway, heading around a garage, or making cool pattern in your line, the rope conforms easily to most shapes. Planning your layout ahead of time is essential since the rope is non-cuttable, but once mounted, it looks seamless and professionally installed.

One standout feature of this lighting system is its use of RGBAI LED technology, packing over a thousand addressable LEDs in 16 feet of rope (double that for this particular box), vivid colors and over 40 smooth transitioned patterns. The rope light supports dynamic lighting effects, defined or DIY color patterns, and tunable white temperatures ranging from warm 2200K to crisp 6500K. You can even make them dance to music!

Pairing the light with the Lumary app is incredibly simple. Once connected, can use the pre-set scenes, build your own, and make a mix-and-match version of your own if you're inclined. If you are using smart home tech, you can even integrate these into an automated lighting setup as they support both Alexa and Google Home.

These lights are also built to last, with an IP65 rating to keep moisture, dust, heat, cold, and other elements out of the zappy bits. The silicone coating protects the internal LEDs while maintaining a soft, diffused glow that looks great from any angle - even across the street. The only issue is that this IP65 rating comes with a caveat – they can't be cut, so you'll need to plan out your pattern or use case ahead of time.

I'd tell you about the consistent neon-like glow that bathes the entire area in a smooth and diffused light, and without any visible LED beads, but you can see that for yourself in the video above. It's clean, gives off a gorgeous aesthetic, and best of all, they're permanent – no need to swap them in and out every season. Whether you use them for accent lighting, party décor, or subtle holiday highlights, these lights are a fantastic upgrade for anyone looking punch up their outdoor setup. It couldn't be easier – if I can do it, anyone can!
