We're back to recap a great week of comics we read here at GamingTrend.com! We have two comics from Dark Horse Comics and one from Titan Comics this week with an interview from Momocon at the end! If you're a fan of end of the world scenarios, alternate realities with superpowers, or distant futures where we're easily replaced with AI; you've come to the right place. Let's jump in!

FML – Issue #4

This series keeps getting better and better as we continue to learn what truly sets off the characters. While the kids are the main characters, the mother is truly the most iconic. She's just so stressed, but if you mess with her children and their friends; you're in for the mama-bear claws.

From the art to the story itself, FML brings a slice of life of a world we recognize but isn't our own. If you're a fan of breaking the third wall / Looney Toons comedy, but also need a little more substance; FML does a great job balancing outrageous comedy with loving themes of acceptance and care for those around you.

Huck: Big Bad World – Issue #1

The world, and all its chaos, hurt, and despair, stand in stark contrast to the moral path of a hero named Huck. Born with a unique power and shaped by how differently he processes the world at large, Huck experiences life with a rare honesty, focus, and compassion that make him extraordinary.

While others see only gray and cruelty, he moves through the world with an upbeat heart, an open spirit, and an unshakable resolve to do one good deed a day.

Blade Runner 2039 – 1-3 Slipcase

As someone who just recently made the jump into the Blade Runner franchise, I have had a lot of fun digging deeper into the world-building of the series. There is so much more out there than the two movies, you just have to look a little.

Blade Runner 2039's 1-3 Slipcase not only looks good, but tells a beautiful story of Replicants trying to save the humanity that they truly desire. All-the-while, the writers are using the rich humans to tell us the replicants aren't real and shouldn't be treated as such; our heroes show us their humanity is more true than that of the rich. Shocker, I know.

If you're a fan of the movies, you'll love seeing the franchise in a different light with beautiful art and a well-told story.
