Note: This impressions piece covers the technical performance on the PlayStation 5 along with the game's co-op functions only.

Titanic Scion performs all right on a base PlayStation 5, but technical issues still undermine the overall experience. While the game includes welcome features like customizable control schemes and Activity Cards, performance problems make the game feel unworthy of current-generation hardware. Despite targeting 60fps, frequent stutters and frame drops interrupt gameplay flow, and 14-16 second load times feel sluggish. The absence of a performance mode leaves you stuck with a compromised experience. Unfortunately, there’s also no full support for the DualSense controller, so don’t expect haptic feedback or adaptive triggers.

Multiplayer is both the game's strength and weakness. Full cross-play across PC, Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox Series works as advertised, and the seamless three-player co-op campaign is impressive when functional. However, the online implementation is deeply flawed with network delays and server issues. Online functionality also impacts the long load times. Co-op unlocks after completing the tutorial up to the fight with Ash. Sadly, there’s no PVP at launch either, but the developers do have it planned as a future update. For now, it's just you and AI bots in the Coliseum...
