We're back to recap a great week of comics we read here at GamingTrend.com last week! We have three comics to showcase this week: one from Dark Horse Comics, one from Marvel Comics, and one from Titan Comics. We also impressions of the newest Conan: Scourge of the Serpent from Tim Jenkins! At the end, keep an eye out for a preview of what we're looking at this week!

Avatar: The Gap Year - Tipping Point – Issue #2/6

As Jake struggles to figure out how to lead a people against unmovable odds, Neytiri takes their children on a family hunting trip to teach the younger kids about the way of the Na'vi. Things, of course, become more complicated since nothing is EVER easy for the Sully family.

This will be a must-read for anyone wanting to play the new From the Ashes DLC for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora as it combines mediums to tell parts of the story. Major Tyler Bukowski is the leading player for the RDA for this comic series and will be the main RDA leader for the From the Ashes DLC as Miles Quaritch is handling things elsewhere.

Avatar: The Gap Year--Tipping Point #2 :: Profile :: Dark Horse Comics
A beyond-the-screen adventure filling in the gap year at the outset of the hit film Avatar: The Way of Water! The RDA is back in force with boots on the ground and Major Tyler Bukowski leading the way in Jake’s neck of the woods. Bukowski’s already drawn first blood and sent a message, one that will send ripples throughout the Omatikaya and crack the foundations of Jake’s resolve. But with their entire world at stake, Jake and his adopted people will need all their skills and plenty of luck to come out of this on top. For the Na’vi, losing is not an option.• Six-issue series.

Wiccan: Witches' Road (2025) – Issue #1

What happens when an intergalactic emperor and his court wizard boyfriend crash land on Earth with no way to know exactly where they are or how to contact others? Well, what happens if that emperor is injured and the court wizard is struggling with his magic even working? You get this epic quest.

The dynamics are wonderful, the story has an air of mystery to it, and the reveal at the end has me excited to no end. Wiccan: Witches' Road isn't using WandaVision as it's guiding light, but if you've read Wiccan/Hulkling before or watched the WandaVision show, you should be able to pick up what's happening quite quickly.

Life is Strange: Dust Deluxe Edition – Vol. 1

This Deluxe Edition is stunning from a content side including scripts, key art, concept art, and more! The hardcover makes it a wonderful centerpiece of a collection for a big-time Life is Strange fan. It's also a great way to introduce a friend to the Life is Strange comic line.

The story includes four chapters following the events of the first Life is Strange game. The intro makes it clear that this story is "one of many possible futures" for the series. Meaning, if you made different choices in your playthroughs, this doesn't change that as being "reality." It's a beautiful story of trauma and grief and how to manage it the best you can.

Conan: Scourge of the Serpent – Issue #3 Impressions

Conan: Scourge of the Serpent #3 does an excellent job of not only pushing the three characters’ individual storylines forward, but also advances the overarching threat without any individual storyline feeling like an afterthought.

The fast, almost chaotic pacing of the issue really serves to highlight the danger all three characters find themselves in, with each facing off against a different threat as the forces of Set make themselves known at last. All of this culminates in a conclusion that hints that the three distinct plotlines may very well become one all too soon as Set’s menace grows.
