We're back to recap a great week of Comics & Manga we read here at GamingTrend.com last week! We have three comics to showcase this week: one from Dark Horse Comics, one from Marvel Comics, and one from Titan Manga.
We also have Tim Jenkins' impressions of the most recent Conan: Scourge of the Serpent! At the end, keep an eye out for a preview of what we're looking at this week!

Avatar: The Gap Year - Tipping Point – Issue #3/6
Following the excitement of Fire and Ash, jump back into Pandora earlier in the timeline and get some good character moments between some of the most important characters in the series.
The references to other comics in the series, the games, and the movies all tie together to make for a comic that's worth reading just for the lore alone. The story, however, is a lot of fun and you get to see more of a different side of the RDA as well as Jake trying to be a father-figure and leader.

Marvel Rivals: The Cities of Heaven (2026) – Issue #1
The Marvel Rivals series has been a fun time for anyone playing the game of the same name. It's been interesting seeing how the in-universe battles actually look to everyone else and the areas they're fighting in from level to level.
This story focuses on Luna Snow as she hunts down the bar she's supposed to be singing at that night. However; monsters, superheroes, and magic itself are all trying to stop her from getting there on time! Oh, and there's a fun moment at the end that made it all even more enjoyable!

Somali and the Forest Spirit – Vol. 4
This series has quickly become one of my favorites for three main reasons; the story, the art, and the detail. Each one work side by side to create an emotional and impactful quest of finding belonging with a chosen family.
We also see the struggle and fears that accompany parenthood and the wonder and fear associated with childhood. Each story adds a little piece to the already interesting world-building, including new locations, characters, and more! I could not recommend this manga enough.

Conan: Scourge of the Serpent – Issue #4 impressions
Conan: Scourge of the Serpent #4 brings the newest mini-series from Titan and Jim Zub to a close, providing a decent finale that both wraps up the story in a unique way while also seemingly setting up an even greater threat for the future. While the story felt a bit rushed in spots, it manages to close out the various story threads nicely, albeit perhaps not as thoroughly as I would have preferred.
The unique manner in which the protagonists must contend with Set was a nice touch, particularly as it was nothing I would have anticipated, and the set up for what could await us in a future Howardverse crossover was a high point for me. While it’s not perfect, it is an interesting issue by itself and an effective conclusion to the Scourge of the Serpent mini-series.

Coming this week from GamingTrend Comics & Manga:
Impressions of Cyberpunk 2077: Chrome – Issue #1, The Amazing Spider-Man: Torn – Issue #4, and The Ghostly Darkness of Kanata – Vol. 1!
