Marvel Dice Throne: Captain Marvel v Black Panther expansion review ⏤ Cosmic Cat battle

Marvel Dice Throne is a super hero version of the popular Dice Throne game by the OP Games featuring your favorite Marvel characters fighting it out with a twist on the classic game of Yahtzee. You can check out our full review on the core game here as well as the Black Widow vs. Doctor Strange expansion here.

The Captain Marvel vs. Black Panther expansion introduces the two aforementioned heroes to the game. They are both at a level 2 out of 6 complexity and feature the same great components and GameTrayz as the core game. While you won’t find anything in the expansion that changes the way the game is played like you might in a traditional board game expansion, you are getting two great new characters to play with.

Captain Marvel is focused on boosting her attacks with cosmic power and has some powerful damage mitigation as well, giving her big hits and a tough exterior, rather thematic.

Black Panther lays out a steady amount of low damage while building up kinetic energy for huge blasts. He likes to wear down his opponents and then finish them off with a big turn or two.

Both of these characters are pretty easy to play and are a great addition for introducing new players to the game without overwhelming them with some of the more complicated choices. If either of these characters interest you and you already enjoy the base game, then you will be happy picking this one up as well.

A life long video gamer, Mark caught the Tabletop itch in college and has been hooked ever since. Epic two player strategy games are his favorites but he enjoys pretty much everything on the tabletop, just no Werewolf please. When he gets a break from changing diapers and reading bedtime stories he can usually be found researching new games or day dreaming about maybe one day having time for a ttrpg. Some of Mark's favorite games are Star Wars: Rebellion, A Feast for Odin, and Nemesis.
