The team at Wargaming has a holiday treat, and you can pick it up right now. Entitled World of Tanks Generals, the game is a free-to-play collectable card game battle that takes the highly-successful World of Tanks formula and gives it an entirely new spin. To celebrate the launch, we’ve got a trailer that shows off some of the gameplay, as well as some screenshots of the game in action, but you don’t have to take my word for it as the game is already available for PC and iOS. Knowing Wargaming, I suspect we’ll see an Android release not too far in the future, but let’s dig into the details:
World of Tanks Generals brings a new twist on interactive and dynamic World War II-inspired warfare. Boasting over 200 cards across three nations (U.S.A, Germany and U.S.S.R.), players can construct their own unique deck to create the perfect balance of tanks, artillery and special orders. Skirmishes take place on the Bridgehead; prospective generals must strategically place their units within the grid, harnessing sudden strikes and tactical traps to protect their HQ and destroy the enemy HQ. Players can soldier their skills in training battles against AI bots and ultimately put their prowess to the test against real-life opponents in 1v1 battles.
“We’re all very excited to be releasing World of Tanks Generals,” said Andrey Zimenko, Publishing Product Director at Wargaming. “Tactical units, deep gameplay, and the sheer variety of cards makes this title an exciting and diverse addition to the Wargaming universe.”
World of Tanks Generals utilizes a modified version of the tried-and-true Tech Tree that is present in all of the World Of products, utilizing the same login you already have for World of Warships, World of Tanks, World of Tanks Blitz, or World of Warplanes. Throw in cross-platform gameplay between iOS and PC and you’ve got a game that you can play pretty much anytime.
