Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark announced, takes place after the Age of Extinction movie

Another day, another threat to the universe, it seems. But there’s no reason to concern yourself, because the Autobots always come through for humanity. Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark is a newly announced Transformers game that will take place after the previous two games, War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron, and the upcoming movie Age of Extinction.

“TRANSFORMERS: RISE OF THE DARK SPARK is an arc between the Cybertron and Earth based worlds of this popular franchise,” remarked Mark Blecher, SVP Digital Gaming & Corporate Development  at Hasbro, Inc. “This year marks 30 incredible years of TRANSFORMERS.  This game tells another chapter in the TRANSFORMERS story that all fans will love.”

Dark Spark will offer over 40 playable characters from both the Autobot and Decepticon factions to choose from. There will be a single-player campaign and a multiplayer mode featuring the familiar run-and-gun, traversal gameplay we’ve experienced in the previous two games from High Moon Studios. Character development will play a larger role in Dark Spark, allowing players to level up universally across the singleplayer and multiplayer modes granting access to new characters, weapons, abilities, and consumables.

The multiplayer coop mode, Escalation, which features wave-based survival gameplay for up to four players, will also be returning.

Transformers: Rise of the Dark spark is coming to Xbox One, PS4, PC, Wii U, Xbox 360, and PS3 this June.
