Ah The Witcher, you’re a series beloved by many, including myself. Despite your cumbersome combat mechanics, your fiction and storytelling are absolutely remarkable is every sense. One of the best things about The Witcher 2 was the superb voice work that CD Projekt RED got out of their actors. That level of quality will hopefully return in the latest installment, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. To ensure that it does, Projekt RED has landed some special voice talent in Charles Dance, better known as the heartless Tywin Lannister in HBO’s Game of Thrones. Mr. Dance will portray Emperor Emhyr var Emreis, a name that even after reading it ten times, continues to make no sense.
“Charles Dance is the perfect candidate to play the mighty Nilfgaardian emperor in our upcoming title. It’s a dream come true for the team here at RED to be able to work with such an accomplished actor and magnetic personality,” said Marcin Blacha, Lead Writer for the title.
Along with this announcement, Projekt RED also revealed a new cinematic trailer which can be found below. The Witcher 3 will release in 2014 on Xbox One, PC, and PS4.
