Sony Celebrates All of Us (named Michael) in New Ad

A while back, Sony debuted a new advertising campaign titled Long Live Play with the return of Kevin Butler.  A week or two back, they showed a teaser of an ad featuring two soldiers parachuting down before coming up on an inn, stowing their weapons and walking into …. a fade out and October 5th.

Yesterday, Sony released the latest commercial in this campaign and if it doesn’t hit you right in your “Damn, that’s awesome” spot, then you really should just log out and go play…frisbee golf or something.  Featuring live actors (with some CG) and the voice talents which have made many of these characters close to our gaming hearts over the past years, this commercial celebrates all of us for, essentially, leading them to greatness.

There are tons of ‘blink and you’ll miss it’ appearances from 25 different characters from a number of different publishers including Valve, Ubisoft, Konami, Square Enix, 2K Games, Namco Bandai, Electronic Arts and Activision, among others.  With this ad, Sony has proven that, at least on the marketing side of things, they get it.

Long Live Play.  Hell.  Yes.
