After a lot of controversy, it has been confirmed that Rise of the Tomb Raider is merely a timed exclusive for Xbox One and Xbox 360 and may eventually come to PC and PlayStation platforms in the future.
Speaking with Eurogamer, Xbox Head Phil Spencer confirmed that Lara Croft’s latest won’t be staying an Xbox exclusive forever, and that the deal Microsoft struck with Crystal Dynamics “has a duration,” and that “[he doesn’t] know where else Tomb Raider goes.”
During Microsoft’s Gamescom press conference yesterday, by dancing around phrasing the company and Crystal Dynamics said that Rise of the Tomb Raider would be coming to Xbox exclusively, but in actuality it will end up on other platforms at a later date.
We had our own thoughts on the matter, but it looks like all may end up well eventually in the world of the Tomb Raider community.
