Red Dead Redemption 2 delayed — screenshots revealed

Rockstar has announced that its highly anticipated open-world western Red Dead Redemption 2 has been delayed to Spring 2018 from its initial Q4 release date. To help soften the blow of this sad news, Rockstar has graced us with some screenshots of the game in action.

Here we see the silhouettes of four horsemen (women) riding in the moonlight. While the first image Rockstar released featured seven horsemen, possibly hinting at seven playable characters (a la GTA V’s three protagonists), this could hint at a more focused roster of playable buckaroos.

We also have our first glimpse of an in-game town in addition to some wilderness shots, a close-up on some dastardly looking revolvers, and our first confirmation of trains in RDR 2. Here’s to hoping for that Spaghetti Western-inspired train heist!

We got our first look at RDR 2 gameplay last year in the form of a teaser trailer. The trailer was preceded by several telling tweets from Rockstar which took the web by storm within minutes of their posting time.

Originally scheduled for this fall, Red Dead Redemption 2 will now be coming to PS4 and Xbox One in Spring 2018.

Joe's favorite games are Zelda: Majora's Mask, Dishonored, Super Mario Bros. 3 and Hearthstone. His favorite game is not The Witcher 3 because he hasn't played it yet.
