PlayStation Vita gets PlayStation Plus!

Vita owners have gotten the short end of the thumbstick!   PlayStation 3 has gotten to reap the rewards of PlayStation Plus, netting 12 games to play for free but there hasn’t been any love for the portable platform.  Well, Sony is looking to fix that right up, and will be extending the PlayStation Plus system to the Vita on November 19th!   This will come as part of the 2.0 upgrade for the platform which will also feature online storage of up to a gig per platform for your saves, 6 Vita games right off the bat, email, easier transfer using wireless, remapping controls for PSone Classic titles, and more!  Looks like I picked up my Vita just in time.   Here’s a nibble of what will hit on day one:

Currently available for the PS3™ system, PS Plus offers members even more benefits with the release of PS Plus for the PS Vita system at no additional cost. Members can take advantage of the Instant Game Collection, which includes unlimited access to a regularly refreshed selection of downloadable games with an active PS Plus membership*. On day one, PS Plus members will be able to download a selection of hit PS Vita games including Uncharted: Golden Abyss™, Jet Set Radio™, WipEout 2048, Gravity Rush™, and Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack! as well as the PlayStation®Portable (PSP) hit FINAL FANTASY TACTICS®: The War of the Lions™*.

If you are just picking up a Vita, this is an excellent way to try out the best the platform has to offer.   Big thumbs up to Sony!  Check out the press release below for all the details.
