Blizzard has recently announced that Malthael, the Aspect of Death from Diablo III will be coming to Heroes of the Storm. As the lore goes, Malthael was once the Aspect of Wisdom, but abandoned his heavenly post after the destruction of the Worldstone by the heroes. Now he resolves to end the Eternal Conflict by becoming the Reaper of Souls and destroying anything affected by demonic corruption, including humanity itself.
Blizzard will be showcasing Malthael (and probably a few other goodies) in their upcoming livestream on Twitch this morning at 10am PT, marking the game’s second anniversary.
If you were wondering what the Aspect of Death might bring to the table, here’s a nibble on his power set below. Before we get to that, however, let’s chew on this video showcasing some of the mounts, skins, and, of course, Malthael himself:
Overview: Once the Aspect of Wisdom, Malthael abandoned heaven after the Worldstone’s destruction. In secret, he had resolved to end the Eternal Conflict by becoming a Reaper of Souls and eliminating everything affected by demonic corruption, including humanity.
