Legacy of Music Contest announced for Theatrythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call

Square Enix has announced a new contest for the upcoming 3DS title Theatrythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call.  Contestants have a chance to win prizes including a trip for two to attend a Distant Worlds: Final Fantasy concert as well as many other prizes.

On August 5th, fans can start uploading music videos of themselves performing the main theme from the Final Fantasy series.  Participants also must include a sign stating their favorite Final Fantasy game in one of their videos.

An instructional video on how to upload your video which includes an example track from Destructoid’s editor-in-chief Dale North is available on YouTube.

Entries will be judged by the legendary composer of much of Final Fantasy’s music, including the game’s main theme featured in the contest, Nobuo Uematsu.  The full list of prizes include:

  • Complimentary trip for two to attend an upcoming DISTANT WORLDS®: FINAL FANTASY concert
  • All of the official soundtracks for the numbered FINAL FANTASY titles
  • One FINAL FANTASY STATIC ARTS Mini Figure
  • Signed Collector’s Edition of the game
  • THEATRHYTHM FINAL FANTASY CURTAIN CALL Limited Edition Japanese Nintendo 3DS™ system

The contest runs from August 5th to August 24th, with Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call releasing on September 16th for $39.99.

Spencer Campbell has summited many mountains just to shout, “Video games are for nerds!!” After extensive scientific testing, he has concluded that they are. He plans on accepting his Nobel Prize as soon as the dorks in Sweden return his calls.
