Backing something on Kickstarter can be a risky proposition.  You never know what will come out from it, as our first impressions of Star Command have shown.  However, the idea of combining a MMORPG and a TCG must be very popular.  Cryptozoic has announced that their Kickstarter for HEX: Shards of Fate is fully-funded after five days.

Cryptozoic Entertainment is proud to announce that its Kickstarter projectHEX: Shards of Fate has been fully backed by the community! Less than a week from being launched on the popular crowd-funding website, the world’s first Massively Multiplayer Online Trading Card Game has reached its project goal of $300,000 and has already accumulated more than $440,000 from over 3,700 project backers.

“We are truly amazed and humbled at the overwhelming response HEX: Shards of Fate received this past week,” said Cory Jones, president and chief creative officer, Cryptozoic Entertainment. “As we are now set in making a truly unique gaming experience for MMO and TCG fans everywhere, we deeply appreciate everyone’s support and look forward to making this a reality. The sky is the limit from this point on.”

There is still plenty of time to get in on HEX if you are interested, and several of the stretch goals have already been met.  You can find out more about HEX at their Kickstarter page.

While not working as a Database Administrator, Keith Schleicher has been associated with Gaming Trend since 2003. While his love of video games started with the Telestar Alpha (a pong console with four different games), he trule started playing video games when he received the ill-fated TI-99/4A. While the Speech Synthesizer seemed to be the height of gaming, eventually a 286 AT computer running at 8/12 Hz and a CGA monitor would be his outlet for a while. Eventually he’d graduate to 386, 486, Pentium, and Athlon systems, building some of those systems while doing some hardware reviews and attending Comdex. With the release of the Dreamcast that started his conversion to the console world. Since then he has acquired an NES, SNES, PS2, PS3, PSP, GBA-SP, DS, Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One S, Gamecube, Wii, Switch, and Oculus Quest 2. While not playing video games he enjoys bowling, reading, playing board games, listening to music, and watching movies and TV. He originally hails from Wisconsin but is now living in Michigan with his wife and sons.
