Gas Powered Games Seeks Kickstarter Funding for Wildman, a new action RPG

Wildman KickstarterSince its inception, Kickstarter has helped dozens of gaming projects get off their feet and onto the market. Chris Taylor and his team from Gas Powered Game hope that “Wildman”, their new RPG, will find its place among those Kickstarter success stories. The project was announced only a few days ago, but already has gained the support of over 5600 backers to the tune of nearly $300,000. News of GPG’s decision to shut its offices this weekend cast some initial doubts on whether Wildman would ever see the light of day, but the developers promise that Wildman is alive. That’s good news, considering how great the game sounds. More details and a prototype video after the break:

This is what Wildman is all about:

Explore the World: Go on RPG Adventures in amazing and epic environments; discover secret dungeons; fight battles against rampaging hordes of monsters; find and equip new weapons and armor.

Evolve or Die: Steal technology from your defeated opponents and use it against them in future battles.

Smash and Destroy: Advanced physics and destructible environments deliver highly visceral (and bloody) combat.

Go to War: Build your army and fight against opposing champions armies for great rewards in hand-crafted War Zones.

The game fuses fierce battles and fast-paced combat in the “War Zones” with RPG-style adventure and exploration that rewards strategy and perseverance. The developers have also expressed hopes to create community modding tools and resources. If you want more details about the game or to back the project, visit the Wildman website or Kickstarter page.

Breanna has been gaming since infancy, if gnawing on an unattended controller counts as playing a game. One of the younger members of the Gaming Trend family, she dabbled in PC games as a kid but wasn't fully consumed by the hobby until the sixth generation of consoles. Now an avid PC and console gamer, she looks forward to the day when she can scape together enough cash to join the next gen club.

In the last week of middle school, a math teacher taught her how to program a calculator; she was pretty much hooked then and there. Currently working towards a degree in Computer Science and Applied Math, Breanna hope to someday make games instead of just writing about them. Other hobbies include playing guitar, binge-watching Netflix, and cooking delicious food.
