Final Fantasy XV confirmed for a 2016 release

Final Fantasy XV will be releasing this year, director Hajime Tabata confirmed today.

In a post on the Square Enix blog, Tabata explained that the home stretch of the game’s lengthy development will “focus on effort and will power.”

“I vow to you all that every member in the team will do their best to the very last possible moment taking responsibility and pride in their craft,” Tabata said. “We [at Square Enix] will do everything we can do to finish FFXV to create an experience we are incredibly proud of and one that you will enjoy and treasure.”

Programmer Satoshi Kitade recently announced that the developers of Final Fantasy XV could play the game “in its entirety from start to finish,” with the first half of the game being close to a finalized product.

Final Fantasy XV will be coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
