Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age trailer showcases remastered goodies

It’s hard to believe that it’s been 11 years since the initial release of Final Fantasy XII, but 2006 was the year. I have such fond memories, and now thanks to Square Enix, I’ve got the chance to relive those memories on modern hardware. Today they’ve released a brand new trailer for Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age showcasing the remastered visuals and soundtrack, as well as the Zodiac System. The International Zodiac System was only released in Japan, so this will be the first time North American players get to experience this awesome system. In addition, the sound will get bumped to 7.1, the speed mode we’ve seen in all remasters will be added, an auto-save feature has been included, as well as a new Trial Mode, and the promise of more.

If you missed out on the 2006 release, here’s a little primer on what the game is about:

Originally launched in 2006 for the PlayStation®2 system and known for introducing many landmark features to the FINAL FANTASY series, FINAL FANTASY XII takes place in the grand world of Ivalice, where the small kingdom of Dalmasca is caught between warring empires Archadia and Rozarria. The lone heir to the Dalmascan throne, Princess Ashe has devoted herself to forming a resistance to liberate her homeland while Vaan, a young thief, dreams of flying free in the skies. The story begins when these two fated individuals meet, changing the destiny of the world’s greatest nations.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age will be released for the PlayStation 4 on July 11th, 2017.
