Final Fantasy IX gets summoned for a PS4 release today

Final Fantasy IX fans, rejoice! Today, Square Enix announced that it has released an HD port of Final Fantasy IX on PlayStation 4, following the PlayStation Press Conference in Japan. The game includes some new features for the HD re-release, including trophy support and enhanced visuals.

Consistently regarded as among the best of the entire FINAL FANTASY series, FINAL FANTASY IX tells the story of the bandit Zidane, princess Garnet, the shy yet powerful black mage Vivi Ornitier, the loyal knight Adelbert Steiner, and other memorable characters for a thrilling fantasy tale of love, war, magic and self-discovery.

The HD re-release of Final Fantasy IX will also feature new enhancements, including high-definition movies and models, auto-save, seven optional booster features, trophy support, and remote play functionality. The game will be offered at a discounted rate until September 26, and those who purchase the game will also receive a custom PS4 theme and a pack of PlayStation Network avatars.
