Darksiders II Goes Live Action in New Trailer

Do you ever feel like there’s just not enough real people in video game trailers? Well it appears the makers of Darksiders II might agree with you. A new live action trailer for the game, starring James Cosmo of Game of Thrones and Braveheart, was released today. Titled “The Last Sermon”, the trailer reveals the impact of War being tricked into bringing on the apocalypse early. It portrays Death, the protagonist of the series, in a new way, as mankind fights through their last hours on earth. Check out the end of the world for yourself after the break.

Jim Huntley, Vice President of Global Brand Marketing commented: “After War is imprisoned for bringing about the apocalypse, Death’s whereabouts are shrouded in mystery. The Last Sermon gives fans an idea of what he may have been up to during that time.”

Darksiders II follows the exploits of DEATH, one of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse, in an action-packed tale that runs parallel to the events in the original Darksiders game. This epic journey propels DEATH through various light and dark realms as he tries to redeem his brother WAR, the horseman blamed for prematurely starting the Apocalypse in Darksiders.

Darksiders II will hit PC, PS3, and 360 this August. It’s also scheduled for a launch window Wii U release.

P.S. Want more apocalyptic action? The uncut version of the trailer will be revealed on the Darksiders Facebook page here.
