Capture And Hold In League of Legends With The New Dominion Mode

The DOTA formula (or MOBA, if you prefer) continues to evolve as the genre grows ever more popular. Today, a new mode called Dominion will present new capture-and-hold gameplay for League of Legends  players which is an accelerated version of the core gameplay.

“With Dominion, we wanted to answer our players’ desire for innovation with a fast-paced, complementary experience to classic League of Legends,” said Marc Merrill, president of Riot Games and executive producer of League of Legends. “Now that it’s available to all League of Legends players, it’s going to be amazing to watch them develop strategies and dominate on the Crystal Scar!”

Dominion takes place in the Crystal Scar, a mining village that is a hotbed for conflict and perfect for this new fast-paced mode in which matches will last around 20 minutes. Developer Riot Games calls Dominion mode a fast-paced alternative to the more strategic, measured pace of Summoner’s Rift.

With over 15 million players, I’m sure the rabid fanbase of League of Legends  will eat Dominion mode right up.
