Big pitches, bigger numbers through week 2 of MLB2k13’s Perfect Game Challenge

davidprice1Over 1,500 verified perfect games have been pitched through 501,429 attempts in this years 2k Perfect Game Challenge, according to developer 2k.  899 unique players have pitched perfect games in pursuit of each teams $25,000 prize pool.  The contest ends April 30.

The last two MLB2k cover athletes, David Price and Justin Verlander, are the virtual leaders in perfect games, with 110 and 85 respectively.  Every team has had a perfect game pitched, with the most being an astonishing 148 with the Washington Nationals.  Players have avoided the lowly Cincinnati Reds, whose team has only seen 10 perfect games.

Original Perfect Game Challenge winner Wade McGilberry, of Semmes, Alabama has pitched three perfect games in this year’s contest and currently leads the Yankee’s leaderboard.  Additionally, 6 of 8 tournament finalists from last year have pitched a combined 22 perfect games and lead 4 team leaderboards.  The youngest perfect game pitcher is age 13, and the most veteran effort is a 59 year-old video baseball wizard.
