It has been confirmed that Atari: Game Over, the film documenting the excavation of the infamous Atari Landfill, will be launching on November 20th exclusively on Xbox consoles. The date was confirmed by the film’s director on Twitter.
Atari: Game Over will show the process of digging up the Atari Landfill, where many unsold copies of Atari games were buried after the video game crash of the 1980s. The landfill was dug out back in April, where thousands of cartridges were found over 30 years after their initial burial.
The film was one of the many projects being handled by Xbox Entertainment Studios, which recently closed its doors after significant layoffs within Microsoft.
