The 2014 SXSW interactive finalists have been announced

The South by Southwest Interactive Awards have rewarded the top efforts of interactive developers for the past 20 years.  This will be the first year that SXSW will hold an awards show specifically for gaming.

Public votes as well as an industry panel will decide the winners across 14 categories.  Voting runs until 11:59 PM CST on February 21, 2014, and winners will be announced at the Long Center on March 8 hosted by SMOSH and iJustine.

There are a few obvious nominees, such as Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us for Excellence in Narrative and Battlefield 4 for Best Multiplayer Game, but also a host of pleasant surprises, like Kentucky Route Zero for Excellence in Art and Antichamber for Excellence in Technical Achievement.

Check out the full list at the official SXSW website and vote for your favorites here.
